Guaranty Trust Bank Plc is one of the leading banks when it comes to internet banking. Mobile and Internet banking system has made life so easy on everyone. both the sender and the receivers too. The internet banking runs throughout the weeks, months and years – no specific days to make use it.
Though there are quite differences between internet banking and mobile banking. But similarities is that you use the internet and it works everything.
To start using the internet banking you must have gotten your login details for it, including the hardware Token device.
Requesting for internet and mobile banking doesn’t cost you any extra charges – Learn more here. Except for the charges for the hardware token device, which is a one-time charge.
So to get started, remember you should have gotten your Internet Banking login details and your Hardware Token device.

How to Login on GTbank Internet Banking Portal
- Go to www.gtbank.com
- On the right side of the page is the login box. Select the personal (by default the personal acct is selected). then click on “Login“.

I don’t know why the extra step again to re-click another Login button before seeing the Gtbank Login form. Anyways, that makes them different from other Bankings in Nigeria
What I’m saying is that you will still see another button to click again to login, after previously clicking on Login.

You can login with any of UserID such as; Account Number, Phone Number or Email. But make sure that the phone number and email address you’re using to login is already associated (linked) to your GTBank account, else you won’t have access.
As for the password area, you will use the keypad to type in your password. You can use your keyboard here.
Click on the “Login” button to enter your account.
You should see another page (not yet your account dashboard).

Now, you have successfully logged in to your account. You may further progress to your desires – transfer to GTBank or other banks, check balance, transfer fund to yourself, etc.
But this page we are talking on how to transfer fund/money from GTBank (your account) to other Banks.
How to Transfer Money to Other Banks
Now that you have successfully again access into your GTBank account through the internet banking method, the following steps lead you to transfer money to other banks.
But remember this:
- You require a hardware token or USSD token (dial 7377#) to complete third party transfers.
- You must first create or register every new beneficiary using your token device before transfers can be made to such beneficiary. Once they are registered, next time you won’t have to go through the process of registering that same beneficiary, because is added to your list already.
Now, let’s make a transfer to other banks.
But also note that it takes the same process of transferring to same GTBank beneficiaries.
Step 1: Navigate to the “Account Transfers” menu. The menu bar is at the life side of the page if you are using a computer to access GTBank.com portal.
But if using mobile and table to access your internet banking account, then you will see the Facebook-like menu bar at the top of the page – named as “SHOW NAVIGATION” – the complete menu collapses when you click on it.
More sub-menus are under the “Account Transfers”, which includes to “transfer to other banks”. Now click on that.
Step 2: Click on “Transfer to Other Banks (Instant)”
On clicking that, there will be a pop-up on the page letting you know that you will have to create or register any new beneficiary before you can make any transaction to that beneficiary. Click on “Continue”
Then click on “New Request”
Then click on “Add New Beneficiary” if this will be the first time you are adding the beneficiary to your list. Or select from the list below to initiate a transfer.
Adding a New Beneficiary:
If you’re adding a new beneficiary, on clicking the Add a New Beneficiary, you will be requested to select the Beneficiary’s bank, then you enter the Beneficiary account number, then you click on “Get Beneficiary Name”.
Once the account number and the bank of the Beneficiary you enter are correct, you will see the name of the Beneficiary on your screen.
Then you will also be requested to enter the answer to your secret question. Then enter the code which your token will generate (you have to press the token to generate an OTP).
Then click on “Add Beneficiary” to complete the registration process. Now you will get an SMS that you have successfully added a new Beneficiary to your list.
Again, select the name from the list and then enter the amount you want to transfer to the Beneficiary’s account. Then check the “store Beneficiary name” in case of next time transaction.
Enter your Answer to the secret question of your account and click on “Continue”.
The next page will then request you to use your token and generate OTP or you can use the mobile shortcode to also generate the OTP.
Enter the code and click o complete or Send.
Done!
You’ve just instantly transferred money from your account to another bank account.
